Dr Shahab Taj MBBS (UWA), FACRRM, AST (Gen Med)
Dr Taj is our clinic director and brings more than a decade of both general practice and hospital experience to our caring medical facility. He is a graduate of the University of Western Australia, receiving his medical degree in 2003. He has since accumulated years of intense hospital training, including 10 years as Medical Registrar at Royal Perth Hospital.
He worked as a Senior Medical Officer in General Medicine, Oncology and Palliative Care for two years in Gympie Hospital Queensland. He is a Fellow of College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM). He’s also received advanced specialist training in General Medicine. His special interest is Diabetes, Geriatric Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, Emergency Medicine, Palliative Care, and Antenatal Care.
“My greatest joy is in helping people have a better life. It was my dream to be a doctor even during my childhood; I was very lucky to come from a family that completely encouraged and supported my passion.”
Dr Taj is married with two children. His wife is also a doctor, and they work together as an amazing team running their practice. When he’s not busy helping his many patients, he enjoys jogging, gardening and taking his kids to the park on the weekends.
Dr. Taj speaks English, Dari, Farsi, Hazaragi and Pashto.
Dr Yin Kwan Wong, MBBS, M.Med (Paediatrics), MRCP (UK) DCH LLB, FACLM (General Practitioner)
Dr Wong is currently on Long Service Leave, and we are unsure of his return date.
Dr. Wong graduated from the University of Singapore in 1972, and obtained his Masters in Medicine (Paediatrics) after training in paediatric medicine from 1972 till 1976. Dr. Wong has worked in in Edinburgh and London where he obtained his membership to the Royal College of Physicians (UK), Edinburgh and London as well as a Diploma in children’s health.
Dr. Wong also graduated from the University of London in 1997 with a Law Degree and was admitted to the WA Supreme Court in 2003 and holds a current legal practising certificate.
Dr. Wong has an interest in all areas of medicine, particularly in children’s health, men’s health, travel medicine, diabetes, asthma, skin cancers, medico-legal medicine and perform minor surgical procedures under local anaesthesia.
Dr. Wong provides his patients with outstanding healthcare, and to stay abreast of the latest in the medical field regularly takes continuing professional development courses.
Dr. Wong private bills with a reduced fee for children under 16 years. He bulk bills pension card and department of veteran affairs card holders.
Dr. Wong speaks English, Cantonese, Hokkien, some Malay and Mandarin.
Outside the practice Dr. Wong enjoys playing the guitar, walking, listening to music and doing woodwork.
Dr Fatima Stanakzai MD, FRACGP
As an MD, Dr Stanakzai enjoys providing exceptional medical care to her patients.Dr Stanakzai did her physicians training from 2007 -2013 at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Queensland, and then Royal Perth Hospital in Perth and gained extensive knowledge and experience in the fields of Endocrinology, Haematology, Rheumatology, Nephrology, Geriatric Health/ Aged Care, Cardiology, Respiratory and General Medicine.
Dr. Stanakzai completed her GP fellowship training in 2018 and has been full time with the practice since January 2019. Dr. Stanakzai also specialises in all aspects of general practice including women’s health, children’s health, chronic conditions, mental adolescent health, diabetes, weight management and general medicine. Dr. Stanakzai performs Ear Micro Suction, Iron Infusions and Implanon insertions/ removals.
She takes multiple continuing education and professional development courses.
Dr. Stanakzai speaks English, Dari, Farsi, Hazaragi, Pashto, Russian and understands Urdu.

When Dr. Stanakzai is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family.
“I have two young children who keep me busy when I am not at the practice! I love spending time with them, playing outdoors, nurturing their natural curious natures and their love of books.”
Dr Nicole Afonso-Conradie, MBBCH:FRACGP
Dr Nicole Afonso-Conradie is a GP with over 20 years’ experience in private general practice. Dr Nicole graduated MBBCh in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1997. She worked in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and surgery where she performed many caesarean sections and other surgical procedures. Many of her patients were victims of the AIDS pandemic and this led to a special interest in the management of HIV medicine.
Dr Nicole then entered private practice in 2000, becoming a partner in a private practice for 7 years where she was actively involved in all aspects of general practice with a special interest in managing chronic HIV infection in families and individuals alike.
Dr Nicole moved to Perth, Australia in 2007 with her family and completed her FRACGP in 2009. Her special interests include women’s health, sexual health and general family medicine. She has completed a certificate in sexual health.
Dr Nicole performs iron infusion, skin excision, Implanon insertion and removal and Mirena removals.
Her practice is LGBTQI inclusive.
Dr Nicole speaks English, Afrikaans and Portuguese. She is married to a doctor, and they have 2 children.
Outside of medicine, Dr Nicole enjoys swimming, gardening and being involved in her children’s many activities.
